Belleville, Ontario upgrades its technology by migrating from CityView Desktop to its browser-based interface, Workspace. This allows staff to access CityView data from anywhere with an internet connection.
The City of Belleville, Ontario, a long-standing user of CityView, recently upgraded its technology platform to CityView’s browser-based interface, Workspace. This allows City staff to access CityView data such as parcel information, permit applications, bylaw cases and more from anywhere, as long as they have an internet connection. Workspace also provides Belleville staff with a visual task bar, taking them through the business process step-by-step and an intuitive, user-friendly design that presents all information on one easy-to-use screen.
With this recent migration, Belleville also added on CityView’s unique Microsoft Word Add-in tool to its existing suite of CityView solutions. Staff can capitalize on the familiar user-friendly, powerful editing features of Word and merge CityView data seamlessly into its letter outputs, thus increasing productivity.
Due to coronavirus concerns, CityView delivered all of Belleville’s end-user training remotely with newly-developed virtual training material that was well received by City staff members. Belleville also migrated its CityView Permits & Inspections, Property Information, Bylaw Enforcement and Cashiering modules to the Workspace platform.
Last summer, Belleville launched CityView Portal, an intuitive self-service platform that combines payment functionality to allow citizens to apply for permits, check inspection results and pay fees online 24/7. The online service saves customers valuable time and keeps them safe at home, without the need to visit City Hall in order to complete tasks.
