Municipality of Chatham-Kent selects CityView as its eGovernment Solution

Following an extensive evaluation process, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent has selected CityView’s Land Management and Community Development software solutions to support its land use and eGovernment initiatives. With 104,000 residents, Chatham-Kent is the 12th largest municipality by area in Canada and the largest in southwestern Ontario.

This project forms a critical part of a wider Municipality initiative to improve efficiencies by streamlining internal processes and increasing online services to constituents, thus enabling the Municipality to continuously improve the high quality of life already enjoyed by its residents, businesses and visitors. CityView will support this initiative by providing a highly configurable platform, enabling the diverse requirements of the Land Management processes to be met and managed in ONE flexible system. CityView will be used by multiple divisions including Planning, Building, Enforcement, Licensing and Customer Services, to support critical and growing service needs that can no longer be supported by the Municipality’s aging legacy systems.

Steve Wilson, Project Manager for Chatham-Kent explains why the Municipality chose CityView, “As a result of an information technology strategic plan, we identified the need to implement core business and government solutions that would meet current and future needs, based on emerging technologies, IT trends and best practices. After reviewing the market’s leading software solutions, we determined that CityView provided the most flexible solution to meet our diverse range of needs. CityView offered solutions such as cemetery and parking management in addition to permits and land management solutions. The depth of CityView’s configuration tools were a key factor in our decision to select it for our eGovernment solution.”

The Municipality will implement virtually the entire suite of CityView’s PreBuilts including CityView Property Information, Permits & Inspections, Planning, Bylaw/Code Enforcement, Licensing, Service Requests, Cemetery Management, Cashiering and its newest offering for Parking. Efficiencies achieved through the use of CityView Portal, CityView Mobile and CityView Electronic Plans review will be augmented by the ability for users to access the system from various satellite offices throughout the Municipality thereby increasing productivity and access to information for internal and external customers.
