The City of Spruce Grove, AB has recently decided to expand its suite of CityView solutions. This will better position the City to increase citizen service, speed the plan review process and deliver more automation overall.

Spruce Grove engaged CityView to assess its current processes and make recommendations for improvements. The City chose to implement many of CityView’s new modules and extensions, which were not available 15 years ago when Spruce Grove first came on board. Some of these include:

• CityView Electronic Plans Review, to create a paperless office and increase the speed and ease of plan submission
• CityView Portal, to offer citizens, business owners and contractors self-service options. These users will be able to apply for, and check the status of, permits online
• CityView Microsoft Word Add-In, so that Spruce Grove can capitalize on the editing features of Word while seamlessly merging CityView data into its letter outputs

This project will enable the City to deliver significantly more automation to employees, citizens and contractors.It will result in improved efficiencies such as faster plan and permit processing and other related benefits. Spruce Grove will be redeploying its entire system using CityView Select best-practice workflows. By adopting the Select configuration, Spruce Grove’s CityView system will be easier to maintain and support.
