The City of Lee's Summit, MO Goes Live on CityView

Lee's Summit, MO and St. Louis, MO - January 14, 2010: CityView, a division of Harris Computer Systems, is pleased to announce that the City of Lee's Summit, Missouri went live with the CityView Community Development solution on November 1, 2010.

Lee's Summit has a population of 93,000 and is just south of Kansas City. The City has implemented the first phase, which includes Permits & Inspections, Planning, Code Enforcement, Cashiering, Property Information and Mapping with Spatial Queries. They are scheduled to go live with the CityView Portal in January.

CityView replaced the City's Permits Plus software.

"We are excited about using CityView's configuration tools to help us continue to deliver a more business-friendly process now and in the future.  This product allows us to create consistent methods for data submission and evaluation, and to easily configure application types, business processes, fees, and reports to match our specific needs," comments Desiree Hourigan, Applications Administrator.

Lee's Summit inspectors from its Building Codes and Neighborhood Services; as well as Public Works and Fire departments use CityView in the field for recording inspection results, printing notices and creating new cases. Lee's Summit has driven the expansion of Portal functionality - particularly in the new ability to set portal visibility based on application type and the ability to restrict inspection scheduling based on time, status and inspection type.

"It has been a pleasure working with the project team from Lee's Summit to achieve their Go-live with CityView.  They are a dedicated, knowledgeable and creative group that has contributed significantly to the growth of our product.  It is particularly satisfying to see the core members of the team pick up the skills to modify their own system so easily after training.  I look forward to working with this group again in the near future," states CityView Business Analyst Ian Carmichael.

Lee's Summit users have taken advantage of the software's configurable abilities by creating complex, multi-table searches, used to generate data for reports. Users also recently received configuration training and are now enthusiastically creating new letters and rules within the system.

"The CityView product is providing the flexibility we had been seeking in allowing our processes to be automated and to greatly expand access to live information for field inspections staff across multiple departments.  The CityView team maintained a strong commitment to our project goals and have been a good partner throughout the project; we look forward to continued success as we proceed to implement additional development process enhancements for our community," says Randy Dickey, Chief Technology Officer for Lee's Summit.

Phase II for Licensing is scheduled to begin in February.
