Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority Selects CityView

NPCA CityView will help the conservation authority streamline applications and approval processes, as identified in its Strategic Plan (2014-2017), while providing new online services to customers

June 10, 2015: VICTORIA, BC : CityView is pleased to welcome the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA) to its growing list of Ontario customers.

The NPCA is responsible for approvals within its designated areas, which includes several current CityView customers such as Grimsby, Lincoln and Haldimand. CityView will help the conservation authority streamline applications and approval processes through the implementation of CityView Property Information , Planning, and Cashiering modules. The CityView Portal will enable NPCA to offer online self-service options to its customers for the first time. NPCA staff will benefit from CityView’s Microsoft Word and Outlook add-in tools which will help boost productivity through data sharing between applications.

Geoffrey Verkade, Supervisor of GIS Services for NCPA, explains how the organization came to select CityView: “The decision was [also] determined by the level of confidence and comfort I developed throughout the evaluation which I can largely attribute to the excellent product and implementation process documentation you provided in the form of the draft proposal. Your marketing team should be congratulated; it is excellently designed, communicating your scalable product and associated services extremely well with little to be questioned.”

“We welcome the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority to our CityView customer community, said Sean Higgins, Executive Vice President of CityView. “The NPCA regulates different aspects of the development process, when compared with a City or County. We’re very pleased the NPCA recognized CityView, amongst the market choices, as the product most malleable to align with those differences and bring efficiency and productivity gains to NPCA employees and constituents.

The NPCA serves approximately half a million people in an area known as the Niagara Peninsula Watershed which encompasses all of the Niagara Region and portions of the City of Hamilton and Haldimand County. At its advent, the driving force behind the Conservation Authority movement was its grassroots land stewardship and water protection programs. Today, this vital commitment continues as it strives to manage the delicate balance between the impact of human activities, urban growth and rural activities on the watershed.
