Hiring - Sales Rep

CityView is looking for a sales representative to join our growing team. The sales development representative at CityView plays a crucial role in generating sales qualified leads and opportunities for our business process automation and management solutions tailored to local governments.

We focus on providing efficient and customer-centric solutions in areas such as permitting, licensing, planning, code enforcement and more. In this position, you will work collaboratively, demonstrating drive, confidence and coachability. Your resilience, creativity and ability to work independently and as part of a team will contribute to your success in our Sales organization.

What you’ll be doing

Some of the day-to-day activities you’ll be doing in this role include:

  • Act as a hunter of opportunities, understand customer needs and effectively articulate how our solutions can address their challenges.
  • Generate a pipeline of opportunities through effective appointment setting and be the first representative of the company, creating a positive impression with prospects.
  • Research and identify prospects, engage in cold calling and emailing to produce sales qualified leads and opportunities.
  • Build relationships and schedule discovery calls and presentations with Rregional sales managers.
  • Collaborate with regional sales managers to ensure timely and thorough follow-up and support to client leads.
  • Achieve monthly goals in accordance with the business plan.
  • Attend tradeshows and conferences as necessary.
  • Assist regional sales managers in managing opportunities throughout the sales process.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge about CityView, the community development industry, local governments, and relevant associations.
  • Maintain a high level of daily prospecting calls and other activities.
  • Keep detailed and up-to-date records of sales activities in the CRM system.
  • Conduct business with an exceptional standard of ethics, adhering to responsible sales practices and the Harris core values.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with peers and customers.
  • Perform other duties as required to increase revenue, opportunities, and support the regional sales manager.

  • Aptitude to learn new technologies and change as evolution occurs
  • 1–2 years of experience working on a sales team, ideally within the tech space
  • Experience selling B2B, SaaS, government, or permit/license software is preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Office Suite, and Salesforce or a comparable CRM, and a proven ability to quickly learn software technology
  • Post-secondary level of education preferred
  • Previous software sales experience in markets with long sales cycles, preferably local government or state, is a plus
