The presales solution consultant plays an instrumental role in the sales process through detailed discovery, product presentations and the completion of request for proposal (RFP) requirements. This is a remote opportunity to act as a trusted advisor to the CityView sales team, helping to make them more efficient through collaboration and expertise. This role isn't just about selling a product; it's about understanding the intricacies of customer businesses, aligning them with the right solutions and ultimately making a tangible impact.

Key responsibilities

  • Detailed discovery: Collaborating with the sales team to unearth the nuances of prospect and customer business goals.
  • Product presentations: Leveraging both web-based and onsite presentations to showcase how CityView's solutions address specific business and technical needs.
  • RFP completion: Ensuring accurate and compelling responses to request for proposal (RFP) requirements.
  • Opportunity qualification: Identifying key stakeholders and influencers while gauging the potential of each opportunity.
  • Continuous learning: Keeping abreast of competing products and industry developments to inform product development and sales strategies.
  • Customer engagement: Representing the product at various events and delivering comprehensive demos that leave a lasting impression.
  • Technical expertise: Responding to functional and technical aspects of RFIs/RFPs with precision and detail.
  • Knowledge management: Maintaining up-to-date product knowledge and managing the sales demo database.

Desired qualifications

  • Industry knowledge: Familiarity with community development business processes, particularly in local governments, is highly advantageous.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years working with CityView or similar software solutions.
  • Presentation skills: Ability to captivate diverse audiences and tailor presentations to meet customer needs.
  • Deadline management: Thriving in an environment where RFP and demo deadlines are non-negotiable.
  • Creativity: Crafting presentations that stand out and resonate with customers.
  • Attention to detail: Meticulousness in addressing technical and functional requirements.
  • Team collaboration: Willingness to collaborate and share expertise for collective success.

Additional requirements

  • Travel: Up to 50% within Canada and the U.S. for customer meetings, conferences and tradeshows.
  • Educational background: A degree or equivalent qualification in urban planning is beneficial.
  • Government experience: Previous experience working with local governments or in a presales role targeting government customers is preferred.
  • Methodology familiarity: Knowledge of Demo 2 Win methodology is advantageous.
