The Town of Amherstburg is the Newest Addition to CityView’s Growing List of Customers in Southwestern Ontario

Amherstburg joins the Town of Lakeshore, City of Sarnia and Municipality of Chatham-Kent in selecting the CityView Suite for its Community Development needs.

May 17, 2017: VICTORIA, BC: The Town of Amherstburg, ON joins the growing list of customers in Southwestern Ontario who have selected CityView to reduce customer call volume; shorten permit issuance times; promote citizen self-service; increase inspector productivity; and reduce paper and manual processes.

Amherstburg will be implementing Select for Property Information, Permits & Inspections, Bylaw Enforcement, Business Licensing and Cashiering. The integrated suite of CityView modules built with modern browser technologies will help the Town better serve its 30,000 citizens while employing paperless workflows to improve turn-around times. The use of CityView’s Microsoft Outlook and Word Add-ins will boost staff productivity through data sharing between applications.

In addition, the Town will employ CityView field solutions for permits & inspections and bylaw enforcement, allowing real-time updates to both the database and to customers, directly from hand-held mobile devices.

Amherstburg will make use of CityView’s Esri GIS extension - integrated GIS for spatial analysis to aid in decision-making. “The Town of Amherstburg selected CityView because the Town wanted a flexible, scalable and highly functional software system to improve our business processes across several departments, which in turn would improve our services to the residents. We were also impressed with positive history of CityView in other municipalities and their continuous commitment to improving the CityView product,” said Antonio Marra, GIS Coordinator for the Town.

“CityView welcomes the Town of Amherstburg to our large Ontario community of customers and we look forward to working with the Town towards success and a long partnership,” said Sean Higgins, Executive Vice President of CityView.

Steeped in historic charm and situated on the banks of the Detroit River at the mouth of Lake Erie, Amherstburg is one of the oldest towns in Ontario, originally established as a British military fort in 1796. The Town was voted as the 2015 People’s Choice Winner; Great Places in Canada. Amherstburg also ranked as the Safest Community by Statistics Canada four out the five past years!
