Victoria, British Columbia, May 20, 2005-Municipal Software (TSX-V:MSZ) is pleased to announce that the Town of Darien, Connecticut has purchased its CityView product solution to provide an Integrated Permit Tracking System. According to Darien's Town Administrator John Crary, "CityView will coordinate the efforts of five Town departments to manage all land use planning, permitting and enforcement activities."
As John Crary added "the Town's goal was to acquire an "off-the-shelf" integrated software solution that is also capable of utilizing existing databases in other departments and integrating with both CAMA and GIS systems. CityView was the unanimous choice by our selection committee to meet this goal. Once CityView has streamlined our internal process we hope to offer on-line services to our constituents to provide even better customer service to them."
The Town of Darien elected to use the CityView application in use at the Town of Waterford, CT to automate their Planning, Permitting, Code Enforcement and Conservation processes. According to Jeremy Ginsberg, Director of Planning and Zoning, "Our selection committee had very specific needs that we were looking for in our software selection. We were looking for a proven application that could be tailored to meet our needs and that we could configure in the future as our needs change. We found this in working with the Town of Waterford to utilize their application and using the CityView Application Builder to adapt it to our needs as they change." By using a prebuilt application from the Town of Waterford, Darien will spend less time and money implementing the system.
