Victoria, British Columbia, September 29th, 2005-Municipal Software (TSX-V:MSZ) is pleased to announce that the County of Albemarle, Virginia will be expanding their current usage of CityView to offer services on-line to their residents.
According to William Fritz, Chief of Current Development, "We originally purchased CityView to help streamline our Community Development services with the intention of offering services over the Internet. Since we began using CityView in the spring of 2004 we have already seen the benefits of the initial purchase. Our turn-around times for Applications have been greatly reduced despite a large increase in applications." Building Permit applications in the County have increased 8% and Development Review applications have increased by 12% in the last year.
Mr. Fritz went on to say "CityView's flexibility has allowed us to tailor our application as our needs changed and will continue to do so. We now see an opportunity to increase our level of service even more by offering our services on-line. The goal of this next project is to offer our customers the ability to apply for permits, check permit status, and schedule inspections from their own computers which is a key element of our drive to provide customer-focused government in the County."
Iain McLean, Chief Executive Officer for Municipal Software stated, "We are very pleased that the County chose CityView to meet their growth needs, and are now seeing the benefits of their investment. Their decision reflects our commitment to work with our clients to help them provide improved local government services. The County of Albemarle is a thriving community and we are looking forward to our continued partnership."
