Municipal Software Welcomes New Partners
Expertware CivilSystems and Logical Design, Inc.
Victoria, British Columbia, October 27th, 2005 - Municipal Software Corporation (TSX-V: MSZ), a provider of business process automation solutions for local government, announced today the addition of two more partners to the growing group of companies in its alliance network. The company has signed an agreement with Expertware CivilSystems Corporation ("Expertware") to distribute Expertware's infrastructure modeling software for water systems, sewer systems and drainage systems. Municipal Software has also signed a co-marketing agreement with Logical Design, Inc. ("LDI") to market the CityView solution suite to its customer base in the United States.
"City Managers today are faced with the problem of aging infrastructure and must manage their assets very carefully," said Iain McLean, CEO of Municipal Software. "Adding the Expertware products to our offering means that we can provide solutions from the pipe and connection level up and help Engineering and Public Works staff in local governments address their day-to-day activities more effectively. Expertware can play a major role in helping clients meet their public health and safety requirements, along with facilitating their growth and development needs." Andrew Laks, President of Expertware, said, "Not only can Municipal Software offer excellent sales and support for the products, but they can also integrate Expertware with the current CityView product to deliver enhanced functionality and develop further Engineering and Public Works solutions."
Iain McLean continued, "We are also delighted to announce our co-marketing arrangement with LDI, a company that has spent 20 years working with local government, primarily with Finance departments in the South Western United States". LDI's primary area of interest is in providing the platforms to run financial systems, primarily software applications such as HTE, New World and ACS, on IBM iSeries environments, and needs to provide more departmental solutions that can integrate to these systems. Kevin Schirmer, Vice President for LDI, said "Our customers have been asking us for current, Windows-based applications that can provide richer departmental workflow right out of the box. We now have an ability to provide this directly to our customers, while still integrating with the financial solutions that they already have in place, leveraging their existing investment in their financial systems further." McLean concluded, "Our aim is to be help municipalities enable transaction-based e-government, to do more with less and to grow. These partnerships add capabilities to our product offering and improve our ability to reach more clients".
Other partnerships for Municipal Software include Microsoft (US and Canada), ESRI (US and Canada), ImageSource (distributors and integrators for document managements systems) and Somacos (developers of meeting management software). Representatives from all of Municipal's partners will be in attendance at the Company's annual User Conference being held November 2nd through 4th in Las Vegas, NV.
