Collier County, FL selects Municipal Software's CityView™ to manage its Communities’ Growth

Victoria, B.C., April 3, 2006 - Municipal Software (TSX-V:MSZ)  announced today that it has been selected by Collier County to replace the existing 10-year-old software for their Community Development & Environmental Services (CDES) division. Municipal Software will provide its complete suite of CityView PreBuilts – Property, Planning, Permitting & Inspections, Code Enforcement and Cashiering – and a custom Vehicle for Hire and Rental Registration system, along with associated implementation services. The overall value of the contract, including all licenses, services and training, is US$1.9 million over an 18-month life cycle. Collier County joins ten other jurisdictions in Florida (including Miami) that are currently using CityView to meet increased constituent demand for consistent, efficient and transparent services.

Collier County ’s CDES division is responsible for developing, enhancing and preserving the communities in its jurisdiction. With CityView, the division’s seven departments will be able to better manage work processes and more efficiently process land use applications and building permits. Constituents will also directly benefit from new functionality – such as detailed application tracking through the review and issuance process – that will enable them to obtain a status report on their application at any time. And through the CityView Public Portal, constituents will have direct access to community development information and services, including an online complaint filing system.

Collier County is the second-fastest-growing area in North America based on full-time resident population. Between 1990 and 2000, the population increased by 65%, and the County estimates that the population grew by a further 27% from 2000 to 2006. Collier County is conservatively predicting a 19% population growth between 2006 and 2010.
