City of West Lafayette, Indiana to Implement Municipal Software's CityView System

Municipal Software Corporation, a leading developer of local government business process automation software, announced today that the City of West Lafayette, IN has purchased CityView to automate their rental housing inspection program, which includes inspections and complaint tracking. The total value of the contract is $54,875 (US).

West Lafayette is located about 60 miles northwest of Indianapolis and is the home to Purdue University.

The rental housing inspection system will provide the City with the ability to automate the inspection scheduling and tracking process. Implementation is planned to start the beginning of October.

In the field, inspections will continue to be done by hand at first, but they plan to move to handheld or laptop devices in the next year or so. Like many local governments, they recognize the great potential of the Web for sharing information and offering services, and as such they plan to use the abilities of CityView to offer their services through a well thought out migration to the Web.

As part of the City's ongoing technical development they are currently implementing a GIS that will be integrated with CityView once it is complete.

Rob Bennett, President of Municipal Software commented, "The City of West Lafayette is our second client in Indiana and joins a growing concentration of CityView users in the mid-west. The City's planned use of CityView is unique in many ways and we look forward being able to show off more of CityView's versatility."
