County of Brant, ON to Implement Municipal Software's CityView System

Municipal Software Corporation, a leading developer of local government business process automation software, announced today that the County of Brant, ON has purchased CityView to automate their Building and Planning departments. The total value of the contract is $102,275 (CAN).

The County is located around Brantford, ON, about 20 miles west of Hamilton.

The new system will provide the County with the ability to integrate its Building and Planning functions with maps and data created in MapInfo. They also plan to utilize Web capabilities to offer various services including Permits, Inspections and Planning applications, to the public. They have a long term plan - over 2 years - to expand to 125 users and make this the corporate standard.

As part of the Ontario Government's plan to streamline Municipal Services, the County of Brant was amalgamated with a number of local jurisdictions on January 1, 2000. As a result the County began its search for an automation solution to assist in the streamlining of their Building and Planning functions. Through a careful and thorough review of their needs, County Staff determined CityView to be the application of choice. Implementation is to begin immediately and is anticipated to be completed prior to the busy spring building season.

Rob Bennett, President of Municipal Software commented, "The County of Brant is our 19th client in Ontario and joins a growing concentration of CityView users in the Province. Many of our Ontario clients, the County of Brant among them, are technology innovators and are taking action to distribute services over the Web. We look forward to being able to show off more of CityView's versatility and Web service capabilities through the County's CityView system."
