Company History
Municipal Software was founded in 1986 by two local government employees. They launched the Company with LOIS, a map-driven software solution for local governments that created an inventory of parcel information that could be attached to mapping data.
In 1995, they introduced CityView, a Windows-based version of LOIS, that would evolve into the business process automation solution that we know today. Since its initial release, CityView has been continuously refined and updated to leverage the most current technologies available when meeting our client’s diverse needs. In 2006, Municipal Software continued a tradition of innovation with the launch of a web-based offering, Local Government Manager to meet the needs of local governments who could not afford the cost or complexity of an On Premises solution.
Today, Municipal Software has over 140 clients across North America from small villages of 2000 constituents to major urban centers with 2 million constituents. We continue to provide our clients with solutions that help them provide consistent, efficient and transparent services.
